29th December 2007: The grand(ish) 60th Birthday celebration. PBH is 60 on 3rd March 2008. To celebrate this, there will be a short tour with 60 comedians spread over six nights. These shows will be on Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th February 2008 at the Betsy Trotwood, Camberwell; Friday 29th Feb and Saturday 1st March at the Canon's Gait, Edinburgh; Sunday 2nd March at the Albany, Great Portland Street. Free admission, will collection towards the Free Fringe. Comedians who know PBH and wish to play please contact.

29th December 2007: In case anybody was in any doubt, the Free Fringe 2008 is happening. Details on www.freefringe.org.uk.

1st June 2007: The latest two CDs are out on 25th July 2007. The Songs of 2006 is the main one, but there's also a CD of Fluffs, Outtakes and Screwups for those who rejoice in PBH's mistakes. More details on the recordings page.

1st June 2007: The FREE FRINGE web site is live at www.freefringe.org.uk. Please go there for details of the Free Fringe's shows for 2007; there are seven venues and many good shows.

29th March 2007: PBH has been having some difficulties with email. If you have sent an email that requires an answer, and haven't received one, then the email has probably not arrived. Try pbh@clara.net instead of the address you usually use.

20th December 2006: The Free Fringe now has its own site, on www.freefringe.org. This is under development at the moment.

20th December 2006: PBH will record his songs of 2006 (at least one for each month) on Sunday 28th January 2007. This will be at the Albany, Great Portland Street, W1. Show time will be 3pm or 3.30, depending on setup time. The recording will be in front of a live audience.

10th October 2006: Looking for the Free Fringe? There will be information soon. Become a friend at www.myspace.com/freefringe in the meantime. There will be shows and new venues for 2007. Interested performers email me with details of your show ideas.

7th October 2006: People who spam guestbooks are scum.

12 June 2006: New images of PBH. Gosh, how exciting. Click here to see them.

15th April 2006: Peter will be busking for the queue for Cambridge Folk Festival tickets on Sunday 30th April, at the invitation of the CFF management.

Peter is also doing various dates around the country as part of Robin Ince's Book Club tour in Spring 2006. His is a humble supporting role to the great, the magnificent and the strange.

15th April 2006: Peter's one-man show for the Edinburgh Fringe 2006 is called How Much Longer Can He Get Away With This?. Peter's been attempting to write one song about the events of each month of 2006, and these will feature in the show. London previews will be arranged. PBH And Some Comedians will celebrate its tenth anniversary at the 2006 Fringe.

14th April 2006: Age happens to all who are not dead, and PBH is no exception. In 2008, PBH will be 60. He plans to celebrate this by having 60 comedians perform in the 6 days leading up to his birthday. Much is yet to be arranged about this event, but comedians are already being signed up.

14th April 2006: PBH founded and pioneered the Free Fringe at Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Fringe is entirely financed by the personal losses made by performers. With the Free Fringe, performers lose less and the audience gets free shows, with the opportunity to give to a collection -- pay what they think a show is worth. After a massively successful 2005, the Free Fringe returns in 2006 with over 60 shows in four venues. Inventing the Free Fringe is one of PBH's proudest achievements.

11th September 2005: Photographs of Cambridge 2005 and 2004 by Shaun Esgate, George Crawford and Neil King; click here. Updates on Edinburgh 2005 and Cambridge 2005 coming soon. Performers list at PBHASC updated here.

4th July 2005: Peter states this: I am not a spammer. I don't sell fake watches, Viagra or any of the other shit you're getting bulk emails about. Somebody's spoofing my email address to send millions (it must be, judging by the number of bounce messages I'm getting) of spam. It's not me. Believe me, I'm even more annoyed about it than you are. This is effectively identity theft. There doesn't seem to be any way of stopping it, but I'm not responsible. Sorry.

28th November 2004: Antique media sale. I still have cassette versions of Official Bootleg and Torn Between Two Plovers. They might as well be wax cylinders. If you want these cassette versions, to play in your car or to threaten your children with, I'm selling them off for £2 each including p&p. Send cheque and letter to the address on the recordings page.

4th November 2004: This is for ADRIAN SCOTT only. Everybody else: don't read it. I have your shirt. Washed. Email me and give me some info where to send it. Without this information it's difficult to give it back. Love'n'peace PBH

21st July 2004: For some reason, my site (this one) is given as a destination in a German sex contact site called Kontaktparadies. I have no idea how this happened. If that's how you got here, you must at this point be feeling massive disappointment. You pay; you click on the picture of a scantily-clad woman; my site comes up. Tut mir Leid, meine Herren. Nothing to do with me.

1st January 2002: First ever vote received for best comedian at PBH And Some Comedians. Score now Zeron Gibson 1, the rest 0.

14th June 2001: The new CD, Buckets Within Buckets is now available, price £10 plus £1 p&p. Go to the recordings page for details.

13th July 2000: THE NEW T-SHIRTS

The home page of Peter Buckley Hill, comedian, comic songwriter, raconteur, wit, excellent shag. Some of the above is true.

This site mostly contains bits on the Edinburgh Fringe and the Cambridge Folk Festival, but there are other jolly spiffing bits, including the secret of the Universe. Gigs change so frequently that it's not worth listing them here, but you can always email Peter at peter@buckers.co.uk for current performance details. If you don't know who Peter is (and how on earth did you find this page if you didn't? It must be some groovy cosmic vibe that led you here) he's chiefly remarkable for running FREE COMEDY at the otherwise overpriced Edinburgh Fringe, and for some legendary performances at Cambridge. He'd be the Manchester United of musical comedy, if he had gigs. The only person to write 17 bird songs, each stranger than the one before (only of you play them in that order, of course).

See here for what the BBC said in 1998.  In 1999 they said nothing.  The best value show on the Fringe.

The rest of the year, Peter Buckley Hill hibernates.  Or does gigs.  Or fails to update these pages.  Or has long irc conversations with perverts from halfway across the world.  Or stuffs puffins.

There used to be a guestbook here, but it has been taken out of action due to spam postings.
